Model UN is an organization that simulates the workings of the United Nations. This aims to provide students with a platform to engage in diplomatic and international affairs simulations. Participants, referred to as delegates represent countries and they participate in active debating, problem-solving, resolving problems diplomatically, and drafting resolutions. MUN fosters skills such as public speaking, research, negotiation, and teamwork while also promoting awareness of global issues and enhancing participants’ understanding of international relations. The Model UN club of Kandy Girls’ High School has been participating in conferences for the past three years and has achieved awards. This club aims to inspire young delegates in our school to showcase their talents in diplomacy, public speaking, and critical thinking in the arena of MUN.
